
Providing market launch strategy of a digital health technology for a pharmaceutical company

The Story
A leading pharmaceutical company was close to the launch of a digital therapeutic (DTx). Given there are no proven track records or recipes for launching digital assets, the company faced several uncertainties on how to educate the field about this asset.
The Ask
The client tasked Decimal.health to help them position the asset in the field. Their primary objective was to determine the most effective medical narrative and identify the target audience to ensure that their solution addresses clinical gaps and seamlessly integrates into existing workflows.
THE APPROACH
To begin, we pinpointed the primary clinical problems addressed by the solution, determined the clinical care services it's best suited for, and identified its ideal placement within the workflow and treatment algorithms.
Crucial to understand in that regard is that digital health launches require fundamentally different interactions with healthcare providers and health systems compared to drug asset launches. Within health systems, diverse stakeholders are involved in the adoption of digital health, encompassing both clinical and leadership perspectives. Several of these stakeholders differ from those who play a role in the adoption of drug assets. We therefore created an overview of both the clinical and leadership stakeholders to approach.
Afterward, we conducted a structured evaluation to compare and rank geographical areas to focus on during the DTx launch. Additionally, we determined the types of settings to target and identified the clinical and digital Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs) to engage with.
RESULTS
The client successfully empowered their field team and initiated the digital therapeutic launch by providing them with a concrete target list and key messages to effectively educate the field and stimulate the adoption of their digital therapeutic.
